When my brother told me he had a spare ticket for the Ebor festival at York Races, I jumped at the chance. The reason being it was Ladies Day. For a photographer like myself it is just full of great opportunities for wonderful photos. So many ladies dressed up ‘to the nines’ and wearing the most gorgeous hats and outfits you can imagine.
Arriving slightly early so as not to miss anything we had chance to wander around the County Stand and take everything in before I got down to business. As you’ve probably read I enjoy days out and take many photos for my own personal pleasure and this was such a treat for me. I must have taken hundreds of photographs but I’ll just put a few on here to give you a taste of the day.
I’ve lived close to York for many years but it was only two years ago that I came to my first race meeting. It really is such a great day out and I can’t recommend it enough. The four days of the Ebor festival are definitely the highlight of the racing season at York. If you haven’t been, there are still a few great fixtures left before the end of the year. It’s well worth a visit.
If you are interested in going have a look at the York Racecourse website for more information.
