The West Yorkshire branch of the National Vintage Tractor and Engine Club descended on the village of Cawood earlier today. Believe me, there’s nothing like the rumbling sounds of these stately vehicles winding across the fields to get the blood flowing on a sunny Sunday afternoon. This was a great chance for the public and enthusiasts interested in agricultural tractors, stationary engines and associated farm machinery to see how farming was done many years ago.
It was amazing to watch the farmers ploughing and tilling the fields on their old tractors. Many people are still farming with their faithful old tractors as well as the new breed of collectors. One’s who enjoy restoring them to prime condition for shows such as this. It’s unbelievable that many of the machines there today have been around since before the start of the second world war.
