If you didn’t know the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race is on at the moment you must be living in a field in the middle of nowhere, without access to television, radio or in fact any other form of contact with the outside world. It’s featured everywhere and is being broadcast across 150 countries with 1000’s of spectators turning out along the route to cheer on the world champions and Olympian cyclists as they speed by. Luckily the start of stage two was just down the road in Selby today and I managed to brave the crowds and snap a few of the riders as they set off from the impressive Selby Abbey, across the old toll bridge and on through the countryside, ending up in the historic city of York.
